This series is entitled "The Anti-Autobiography."
It explores the concept of leaving behind parts of my SELF... but not in the traditional sense. I have not written a memoir, painted a pretty picture of my family, nor photographed my own image, and yet, I have managed to capture a myriad of self-portraits: happy ones, sad ones, annoyed ones, defeated ones.
None of these marks have been made with traditional tools and materials. Instead, the brushes and paints were put away and no marks have been left on canvas.
In exploring the concept of an anti-autobiography, I was influenced by the idea of DNA, using my lips to leave behind a unique and individualistic set of prints. They say no two fingers leave behind a fingerprint that is alike. Can this be true of our lips?
Can this be the start of a whole new Art Genre: "DNA-ism"?
